Thanks to multiple tropical storms, one on top of the other, we have a large swath of our state impacted by flooding. While the Irene floodwaters recede, communities are now faced with rising waters from Lee.
Our colleagues in Vermont are assessing damage from Irene, along with the National Trustís Northeast Office, and using the FEMA-approved forms from NCPTT. The Preservation League will join this team next week, to learn first-hand how the Preservation Trust of VT has assembled their team and organized the assessment survey, with plans to bring a similar program to New York State.
In the meantime, the Preservation League has assembled a list of resources for preservationist and property owners impacted by flooding.
