Historic Elmira's Amazing Elmira Treasure Hunt:
Still Time to Join the Hunt
"Pierce and Bickford" survey Elmira's Greatest Treasures
ELMIRA, NY * May 15, 2014- May is National Preservation Month and Historic Elmira, Inc. is celebrating its 4th Annual Amazing Elmira Treasure Hunt by bringing attention to Pierce and Bickford, the architects who designed so many of Elmira's public and private buildings during the 19th and early 20th centuries. The Treasure Hunt is Historic Elmira's way of celebrating National Historic Preservation Month in May. This year, National Preservation month takes on greater meaning because of Elmira's 150th Anniversary. Pierce and Bickford designed buildings that reflect Elmira citizens' aspirations to make the city appear noteworthy and prosperous.
